Job Description:
The University Audit Department strives to provide objective, independent reviews of the University's departments, organizations, and processes, to ensure compliance, promote accountability, and offer insights that enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and overall success of the University.

The IT Auditor supports the Audit Department by assessing the design and effectiveness of the University's information technology controls, cybersecurity protocols, data security, and information systems. This role assists with ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and institutional policies while promoting alignment with industry standards and IT governance best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems or a technology related field with related work experience to equate to a master's degree. Or a master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems or a technology related field.
  • Up to several years experience in IT auditing, cybersecurity, IT risk assessment methodologies, IT process improvement initiatives or related IT roles (internships included). Considerable experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Working understanding of IT general controls, risk management, and basic audit procedures.
  • Working understanding of IT risk assessment methodologies and process improvement initiatives.
  • Basic knowledge of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and ISO based IT regulatory frameworks and standards.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify issues, and develop solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Effectively adapt to evolving situations and re-prioritized tasks to meet dynamic demands.
Additional Considerations:

Certification in, or progress toward CISA, CISM, CRISC, or a similar credential preferred.
