Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer to join our team supporting mission-critical systems in a large-scale financial services environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and other mainframe technologies, and will play a key role in system enhancements, maintenance, and modernization efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM

• Analyze and troubleshoot issues in existing mainframe systems

• Perform impact analysis and provide estimates for enhancements or project work

• Collaborate with business analysts, testers, and cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions

• Participate in code reviews, performance tuning, and documentation

• Contribute to modernization initiatives and integration with distributed/cloud platforms

• Ensure adherence to security and compliance standards

Required Skills:

• 8+ years of hands-on mainframe development experience

• Strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM

• Familiarity with CICS and mainframe file systems

• Experience in batch processing and real-time transaction applications

• Good understanding of SDLC and Agile development practices

• Proficient in debugging tools and performance tuning on z/OS

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills:

• Exposure to mainframe modernization and integration with APIs or cloud platforms

• Experience with tools such as Endeavor, File-Aid, Abend-AID, Expeditor

• Knowledge of job scheduling tools like CA7, Control-M, etc.

• Prior experience in financial services or insurance domain
