Position Summary
Independently performs advanced troubleshooting for familiar and unfamiliar technologies following established policies and processes. Researches, troubleshoots, diagnoses, and resolves computer software and hardware, operating systems, network, and security issues. Maintains systems in areas that require specific knowledge and skills. May perform duties in one or more of the following disciplines: IT Service Desk, Techlink, IT Executive Support, IT Account Mgmt., Datacenter Ops, Print Ops, IT Facilities Support, PC Dispatch, Telecommunications, IT Asset Mgmt.
Focus of opportunity
This opportunity is for an IT Technician and will focus on all cabling related activities, Telecom Room builds, Cellular, Paging & cable TV support, throughout all owned and leased buildings in the ERIE footprint. We are looking for an individual that meets the requirements & expectations of a Professional Technician which would require a technical background. This individual should have excellent communication/collaboration skills and the ability to successfully perform the expectations of a Professional Technician. Along with this role will require someone who's willing to work in an operational environment including after normal business hours & on weekends as needed.
Required experience & skills:
Basic knowledge of network switch, server, router and UPS stacking
Basic knowledge of horizontal cabling practices
Travel required as needed throughout the ERIE footprint
Preferred experience & skills:
Past experience installing and connecting data cables, either in a Telecom Room, Data Center or workstation environment
Research and determine most-effective method to resolve technical issues
Ability assist & help manage the contractor team in maintaining the SLA's of TASK or project work
Troubleshoot and resolve problems for familiar or unfamiliar technologies, using established, new or unwritten policies and processes
Effectively communicate with vendors, team members or other stakeholders (Ex: Corporate Services) as a project lead on the team
