responsibilities:
- Develop, enhance, and maintain core Linux kernel components to improve performance, support new hardware, and ensure system reliability.
- Design, implement, and debug device drivers for various hardware, guaranteeing seamless integration and functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex kernel and driver issues, including performance bottlenecks and hardware compatibility problems.
- Support production systems by monitoring kernel health, responding to incidents, and implementing necessary fixes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams using proficiency in version control and open-source workflows.
qualifications:
5-7 years of professional experience in software development with a strong focus on low-level systems.
Expertise in C and C++ for programming Linux kernel and device drivers.
Demonstrated ability in low-level debug and triage.
Deep understanding of operating system internals and hardware-software interaction.
Must be available to collaborate during Pacific Standard Time (PST) core business hours.
Must be willing to work onsite 3-4 days a week in Hillsboro, OR, due to the need for access to specialized equipment/prototypes.
