Job Title: Senior Data Scientist Data Center of Excellence (CoE)
Location: Richardson, Texas
Employment Type: Full-Time / Contract
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist with a strong analytical mindset and a strategic approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate should go beyond delivering basic insights to proactively develop innovative, data-driven solutions for business challenges. A deep understanding and trust in the application of machine learning algorithms, coupled with the ability to translate insights into impactful visualizations and narratives, is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver actionable business insights across multiple domains using standard tools, frameworks, and open-source technologies.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers and Software Engineers to build scalable and sustainable business intelligence solutions.
- Create intuitive and insightful dashboards using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Streamlit.
- Write clean, efficient code in Python and R; script in SQL and Excel; other languages like Java, Scala, or Julia are a plus.
- Conduct advanced data manipulation, cleaning, and analysis on large datasets.
- Apply Supervised and Unsupervised ML techniques including Regression, Forecasting, Classification, NLP, and Search Algorithms.
- Build and productionize ML models while integrating them into robust data pipelines.
- Develop reproducible, valid analytical frameworks for slicing and dicing data.
- Communicate findings clearly through data storytelling and visualization.
Required Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience in data science and machine learning.
- Proven experience in developing, validating, and deploying ML models in a production environment.
- Strong knowledge of data pipeline architecture and ML lifecycle.
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or other scientific disciplines.
- Master's or PhD in a related field with relevant experience is preferred.
- Experience in Explainable AI (XAI) and Causal Inference is a strong plus.
Preferred Tools & Technologies:
- Programming: Python, R, SQL, Excel, (Java, Scala, Julia optional)
- Visualization: Tableau, Power BI, Streamlit
- ML/AI Concepts: Regression, Classification, NLP, Forecasting, Clustering
- Familiarity with version-controlled, language-agnostic ML workspaces
Soft Skills:
- Strong visual and narrative communication skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-driven, innovative, and capable of strategic thinking beyond immediate business requests.
