Job Summary:

The State of Ohio is seeking a skilled Product Specialist 4 to support digital accessibility and content migration efforts. The specialist will work within the state s web content management environment to convert, test, and validate digital content to meet accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 Level AA). This position involves hands-on technical tasks, accessibility testing, documentation, and stakeholder training.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. HTML Content Conversion (20%)

    • Convert PDF/Word documents into HTML format using the state s web content management tool.

  2. Accessibility Testing (15%)

    • Verify converted HTML content using accessibility tools (e.g., JAWS) to ensure compliance with accessibility standards.

  3. Content Validation (15%)

    • Compare original documents with HTML versions to confirm information accuracy and formatting integrity.

  4. Document Remediation & Recommendations (25%)

    • Review existing web content and recommend improvements for accessibility; perform updates and conduct compliance testing.

  5. Training & Documentation (15%)

    • Educate DAS OIT content managers on HTML conversion processes and WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. Develop job aids for ongoing use.

  6. Stakeholder Communication (10%)

    • Provide regular updates, lead/participate in meetings, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure project alignment.
