Job Title: Data (AI/ML) Engineer (Hybrid - North Charlotte)

Location: North Charlotte, NC (Hybrid: 3 days/week onsite at Charlotte office)
Contract Length: 7 months with potential for extension or conversion

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Data (AI/ML) Engineer to support a high-visibility pilot program focused on leveraging Generative AI to solve complex business challenges. This role blends business analysis with cutting-edge AI implementation, making it ideal for professionals who thrive at the intersection of strategy, data, and emerging technology.

You ll partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate enterprise needs, identify AI opportunities, and deploy innovative solutions using LLMs, transformer models, and advanced tools. The position is hybrid, with three days per week required in the Charlotte office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead AI-powered business strategy initiatives from concept through execution.

• Analyze large-scale, multifaceted business processes and identify opportunities for AI-driven enhancements.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to assess needs, develop use cases, and define solution requirements.

• Design, fine-tune, and deploy AI models using GPT, BERT, and other transformer-based architectures.

• Utilize tools like LangChain, LangGraph, HuggingFace, TensorFlow, and PyTorch to build scalable AI applications.

• Apply MLOps tools (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow) to support efficient model deployment and lifecycle management.

• Translate complex technical data into strategic insights and actionable recommendations.

• Support integration efforts using Java, Scala, JavaScript (Node.js), and both SQL and NoSQL databases.

• Rapidly prototype solutions and assess business value to guide go/no-go decisions.

• Maintain thorough project documentation to support audit and compliance requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in business execution, strategic planning, or implementation roles.

• Strong experience working with Generative AI, large language models, and data-driven business solutions.

• Technical proficiency in Python, Java, SQL, and cloud technologies (Google Cloud Platform preferred).

• Knowledge of model evaluation metrics, embeddings, tokenization, and AI architecture best practices.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced, agile environments.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Proven ability to prioritize multiple high-impact projects simultaneously.
