Position Summary
Continue the Mission. Serve in a New Way.
You've worn the uniform. You've led the teams, managed missions, and carried responsibility that most people will never understand. Now, as you transition out of service, you may be asking: How do I keep serving?
At Applied Companies, we believe your mission doesn't end when you take off the uniform. Our purpose is to develop rugged, reliable environmental control and power systems that keep warfighters alive, effective, and able to come home safely.
We are seeking a veteran leader who wants to continue serving by shaping the capabilities our troops need. This role is more than business development - it's about translating your knowledge of the military and DoD ecosystem into solutions that protect and sustain those still in the fight.
What You'll Do
- Bridge the gap between the needs of the warfighter and the technology that supports them.
- Use your understanding of DoD organizations, prime contractors, and supplier networks to identify where Applied's thermal management and power solutions can make a difference.
- Engage across all levels - from engineers to senior leaders - to communicate mission value and technical solutions.
- Identify opportunities through your network, referrals, and outreach - not just waiting for the doors to open but creating them.
- Develop and deliver clear proposals, presentations, and briefings that connect warfighter needs to Applied solutions.
- Negotiate with integrity, seeking win-win partnerships that advance the mission and safeguard our values.
- Partner with our engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure customer needs are met.
Who Thrives Here
- Senior NCOs, Officers, or veterans with DoD contractor experience who what to keep serving from the private sector.
- Leaders who know how to navigate complex DoD acquisition and contractor environments.
- Professionals who are self-driven, accountable, and mission-focused, capable of working without heavy bureaucracy.
- Communicators who can listen, build trust, and inspire confidence across technical and executive audiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of proven sales/business development experience.
- Prior military service or direct experience with DoD Primes/Sub-Tier suppliers.
- Technical aptitude
- Demonstrated success in building relationships, creating opportunities, and closing business.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Preferred Background
- Prior HVAC sales or service experience.
- Understanding of diesel power generation and power grids.
- Experience in small-company or entrepreneurial environments where initiative matters.

- Veteran Founded/Woman-Owned/Serving DoD Since 1958
- Competitive salary, performance incentives, and full benefits (medical, dental, vision),
- 401(k) with generous match and profit-sharing program.
- A small, agile team where your judgment is trusted and bureaucracy doesn't get in the way.

This isn't just sales. This is service - continued.
