Project Overview:

Our client, a leading institution in the Higher Education sector, is implementing Oracle Cloud HCM with a planned go-live at the end of July 2026. We are seeking an experienced Oracle Cloud Core HR Functional Lead with prior Higher Education implementation experience to play a key role in the full lifecycle implementation - from requirements gathering to post go-live readiness.

Role Overview:

The Core HR Lead will be responsible for leading the end-to-end implementation of Oracle Cloud Core HR within a higher education environment. The ideal candidate will have deep functional knowledge of HR processes, compliance, and policies specific to the education sector, along with extensive experience in Oracle Cloud HCM implementations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Core HR workstream during the Oracle Cloud HCM implementation lifecycle.
  • Conduct requirements workshops, document business processes, and prepare fit-gap analysis specific to higher education HR operations.
  • Configure and validate Oracle Cloud Core HR setups to meet institutional and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare and execute Conference Room Pilot (CRP), User Integration Testing (UIT), and System Integration Testing (SIT) phases.
  • Lead and coordinate UAT sessions, capturing user feedback and ensuring all configurations align with business expectations.
  • Develop and manage production cutover plans, ensuring a smooth transition from implementation to go-live.
  • Collaborate closely with HR leadership, IT teams, and Oracle SI partners to ensure all deliverables meet scope, schedule, and quality objectives.
  • Provide ongoing guidance on HR process optimization, policy alignment, and data integrity within Oracle Cloud HCM.
  • Support project governance by creating detailed documentation, status updates, and risk mitigation strategies.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Core HR Functional Lead on Oracle Cloud HCM implementations.
  • Higher Education industry experience (mandatory) - deep understanding of HR policies, processes, and compliance unique to academic institutions.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud HCM configuration and testing.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting fit-gap workshops, CRP/UAT/SIT, and leading production cutover planning.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into functional configurations and test scenarios.
  • Prior participation in multiple end-to-end Oracle Cloud HCM or comparable HRIS implementations.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Familiarity with Payroll, Benefits, or Talent Management modules.
  • Experience integrating Oracle HCM with other enterprise systems used in higher education.
  • Exposure to Oracle Recruiting Cloud (ORC) or Learning Cloud.
