User Acceptance Tester (12-Month W2 Contract | Remote)

Pay: $48-$56/hour (W2)
Location: Fully Remote (U.S.-based)
Schedule: Standard business hours, Monday-Friday (occasional overtime as needed)

About the Role

Russell Tobin is seeking a highly skilled and experienced User Acceptance Tester (UAT) to join our client s technology team. This position supports the development and implementation of new capabilities within a web-based ID card composition and processing application.

You ll join a collaborative QA team focused on ensuring seamless functionality, reliability, and user satisfaction across enterprise-level systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute test cases, scenarios, and scripts based on business requirements.
  • Automate manual test cases and contribute to automation framework development.
  • Identify, document, and track defects and issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and the Test Lead to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Participate in demo sessions and provide usability and functionality feedback.
  • Contribute to testing best practices and continuous process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in software testing (UAT or QA roles).
  • Strong background in manual and automated testing.
  • Proficiency with test management tools (e.g., Rally, JIRA).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Self-starter with critical thinking skills.

Technical Expertise:

  • Experience testing RESTful services using tools such as Postman or Rest Assured.
  • Strong understanding of HTTP protocols, status codes, and request/response validation.
  • Experience testing enterprise-level software systems with multiple integrated components, databases, and third-party integrations.

Preferred Skills

  • Database testing: Ability to write NoSQL queries, understand schemas, and validate data integrity.
  • End-to-end process understanding: Ability to design test scenarios that reflect real-world workflows and identify system gaps.
  • Risk assessment and prioritization: Strong analytical skills to assess business risk and focus testing efforts effectively.
  • Adaptability: Ability to quickly learn new business processes and adapt testing strategies to varied organizational contexts.
  • Stakeholder management: Excellent communication skills to clarify requirements and manage expectations across technical teams.

About the Team

You ll work alongside a team of five QA Engineers three of whom specialize in automation and backend validation. The team combines strong general QA skills with advanced technical expertise to deliver robust, high-quality solutions.
