Description
TEKsystems is seeking a Critical Environment Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and optimization of Building Automation Systems (BAS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), and UPS systems across mission-critical facilities. This role is ideal for candidates with strong technical expertise in electrical and mechanical systems, and a passion for maintaining high-performance environments.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr.

TEKsystems is seeking a Critical Environment Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and optimization of Building Automation Systems (BAS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), and UPS systems across mission-critical facilities. This role is ideal for candidates with strong technical expertise in electrical and mechanical systems, and a passion for maintaining high-performance environments.
Key Responsibilities:
System Operations & Monitoring:
- Operate and maintain BAS, EPMS, and UPS platforms
- Monitor system alarms and telemetry to ensure safe, efficient operations
- Conduct trend analysis and generate reports to identify and resolve equipment issues
- Perform inspections and validations across electrical, mechanical, and control systems
Technical Expertise:
- Navigate BAS and EPMS platforms to verify equipment status and execute approved procedures
- Apply ION programmability and analytics in PME to enhance system insights
- Understand interactions between central controllers and distributed devices
Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure all operations meet safety and regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, changes, and performance metrics
Top Skills Needed:

OSHA or NFPA 70E certification
Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in critical environment operations or facilities management
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in data centers or industrial settings
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be able to work flexible schedules, including rotating or 12-hour shifts
- OSHA or OSHA-approved NFPA 70E certification required
