Job Summary

The Manager of Logistics & Program Operations is responsible for leading the end-to-end logistics strategy, execution, and cross-functional program initiatives that support departmental and organizational training objectives. This role ensures operational excellence through strategic planning, vendor management, process optimization, and data-driven decision-making. Also includes managing the new employee onboarding process from a training perspective to ensure all new hires are provided with the same experience as they are welcomed into TriWest. A key component of the position includes fostering collaboration across teams and guiding staff in their professional development.

Education & Experience

Required:

Bachelor's Degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, education, organizational development, or related discipline; OR equivalent experience, to include any combination of education and experience
be able to receive a favorable Interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense (DoD) background investigation
3 years of experience in logistics, program operations, project management or training program management
1 year in a formal people supervisor or manager role
Proficient in MS Office - Project, Visio, Excel, SharePoint, Teams and Outlook
Familiarity with training delivery operations and onboarding processes to ensure consistency across new hire experiences

Preferred:

Master's degree in organizational leadership, instructional technology, or program management
Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Lean Six Sigma, ATD CPLP)

Key Responsibilities

Directly supervise and provide guidance to the Training Coordinator and Training Onboarding Coordinator, ensuring alignment with departmental and organizational training objectives.
Serve as a liaison between training delivery teams and other departments to ensure seamless execution of training programs.
Lead the planning and execution of departmental training projects, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met on time and within scope.
Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, proactively addressing risks or delays to keep initiatives on track.
Oversee scheduling and logistics for training sessions in coordination with workforce planning and business stakeholders.
Oversee the training component of the new hire onboarding process, ensuring every employee receives a consistent, high-quality experience from day one through their 90-day milestone.
Collaborate with leadership, management, HR, and Legal & Compliance to identify requirements that need to be addressed before hire and within the first 30 days of employment, which reduce organizational risk, while ensuring a seamless employee experience.

Collaborate with IT, HR, Security, and department managers to coordinate timely system access setup, identify potential bottlenecks, propose solutions, and ensure all stakeholders are aligned during the onboarding phase.
Partner with the Training Delivery Managers to support the delivery of orientation, track progress, and evaluate onboarding outcomes.
Support onboarding and training logistics by ensuring proper system setup and access for new employees.
Develop and oversee logistics strategies that support training programs across the organization.
Identify opportunities to streamline training project workflows and improve efficiency.
Provide direction to staff managing day-to-day logistics (registration, rosters, materials, technology), ensuring consistency and operational excellence.
Utilize data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of logistics and program operations, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in logistics and program operations to enhance efficiency, scalability, and learner experience.
Provide leadership and coaching to team members through one-on-one development, supporting career growth and building long-term success within the department.
Perform other duties as assigned.
