Emergency Medicine Physician Critical Access Hospital

Specialty: Emergency Medicine (Will accept FM or IM)
Location: Arkansas - Multiple locations within 1 hour of Memphis and 3 hours of Nashville.
# of Openings: 3
Provider Type: MD/DO (FM/IM/EM)
Dates: As soon as credentialed (4 weeks) for 10+ shifts/month ongoing. Will accept minimum of 4 shifts/month availability. Prefer candidates who can start in June or July.
Certs required: BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALSA, DEA & AR License. Must be Truly BE or BC
Schedule: 12 Hour Shifts from 6a-6p or 6p-6a or 24-hour shifts from 6-6. Sole provider.
Details: Critical Access Hospital with multiple locations in Arkansas. Must be comfortable as sole provider working 12 or 24 hour on-call shifts. 3 RN s on shift + sub-specialty backup on call. Client does not want any providers with malpractice or background issues.
Patient Volume: 18-22 per 24 hour shift.
EMR: MedHost
Expenses: Will cover Flight, Lodging, Car Rental or Mileage & Malpractice Insurance.

Title: Emergency Medicine Provider

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Emergency Medicine Provider to join our team. We are committed to providing comprehensive, high-quality healthcare services to underserved populations in our community. The primary responsibility of the Emergency Medicine Provider will be to deliver emergency medical care services to patients of all ages in a trauma level IV setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Stabilize and discharge patients, stabilize and admit patients or stabilize and transfer patients.
  2. Conduct thorough medical assessments, including physical examinations, medical history reviews, and diagnostic tests, to formulate accurate diagnoses and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  3. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, social workers, and others, to ensure coordinated patient care.
  4. Educate patients and their families about their health conditions, treatment options, preventive measures, and lifestyle modifications to promote optimal health and well-being.
  5. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient encounters, maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, and facilitate communication and information sharing among healthcare team members.
  6. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adherence to evidence-based clinical guidelines to enhance the quality and effectiveness of patient care delivery.
  7. Stay abreast of current developments in the field of primary care medicine through continuing medical education (CME), professional development activities, and participation in relevant conferences and seminars.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
  • Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
  • Completion of residency training.
  • Experience working as a sole provider in an emergency department setting preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
