Accessibility Digital Content Engineer


What s the Job?
Seeking a contractor with accessibility expertise in the area of digital content to provide guidance and prepare training material. The training material will enable employees to reliably and accurately institute accessibility processes.

Tasks include:
Develop internal processes for creating accessible documents and templates, and other digital content.
Develop or redesign content for micro courses delivered in the learning management system covering digital content processe, which may include the following topics:
Accessible PDFs
Email best practices
Electronic document processes
Develop content for at least one live and/or OnDemand training as a subject matter expert as needed.
Provided explanations/guidance and support communities regarding institutional compliance with laws, regulations, and established technical standards related to digital accessibility.
Required Skills:
Strong skill set in tools, techniques, and methodologies used to make accessible documents and other digital content.
Knowledge and experience in coordinating complex projects that involve a high level of collaboration, including developing successful business processes involving accessible digital content.
Working knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures related to digital accessibility including, but not limited to: Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act; Americans with Disabilities Act; California Government Code 11135 and 7405; Twenty-First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act; Section 225 of the Telecommunications Act, WCAG 2.1, and other web accessibility legislation
Effective writing, presentation, and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively, effectively, and independently
Ability to analyze and critically review information
Preferred skills:
Ability to adapt to changing Accessibility Initiatives and readily adapts behavior to maintain effective performance
Understand the long-term direction and can relate this to various internal areas
Adapts to new methodologies
Identifies and acts on areas where change is appropriate.
