Job Title: AV Support Specialist (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Onsite- North KC
Contract Duration: 3 6 months (Contract-to-Hire)
ole Overview
The AV Support Specialist provides daily operational and project-based support for a Kansas City based health systems audio/visual systems. This role ensures reliable performance across Teams Rooms, digital signage, and conference environments while delivering professional, customer-focused service to hospital staff and leadership.
This position replaces the outgoing AV specialist and plays a key part in stabilizing and standardizing the AV environment moving away from high-end production toward a sustainable, IT-supported model.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Support (50 60%)
- Provide in-room and remote support for Teams Rooms and meetings.
- Troubleshoot and repair AV equipment (cameras, displays, microphones, carts).
- Manage AV service tickets and requests through established workflows.
- Projects & Deployments (40 50%)upgrades, and digital signage expansion.
- Manage and deploy BrightSign players and Appspace CMS content.
- Coordinate with IT, Facilities, and Engineering teams on AV initiatives.
- Customer & Event Support
- Deliver professional, customer-first service to executives and clinicians.
- Provide basic event and meeting support; complex productions will be handled by vendors.
- Train end users and administrative staff on Teams and AV tools.
Environment & Technology
- Microsoft Teams Rooms (primary platform)
- Logitech and occasional Poly systems
- BrightSign players & Appspace CMS
- Service request and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow)
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor s in IT or related field preferred.
Experience:
- 2+ years in AV operations or IT support (corporate or healthcare environment preferred).
- Hands-on experience with Teams Rooms, video conferencing, and AV troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Extron, Biamp, Dante, or similar systems a plus.
Certification- need at least one of the following:
- A+ (CompTIA) or Equivalent Experience
- Net+ (CompTIA) or Equivalent Education
- Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) (AVIXA)
- Preferred: Project+ (CompTIA)
- Preferred: CCNA (Cisco Networking)
Soft Skills & Culture Fit
- Highly customer-facing with strong communication and professionalism.
- Able to balance responsiveness with clear boundaries on scope.
- Comfortable working independently as the primary onsite AV resource.
- Reliable, personable, and proactive in problem-solving.
Additional Requirements
- Must meet contractor health compliance (e.g., TB test, flu shot).
- Fully onsite; no travel expected during contract period.
