SAP S/4 Plan to Produce (PP) Consultant

Vortex is seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP Production Planning (PP) Consultant with extensive experience in the aerospace and defense sector. The ideal candidate will bring extensive expertise in configuring and optimizing SAP PP processes, with a strong focus on make-to-order (MTO) and engineer-to-order (ETO) manufacturing environments. This role involves leveraging deep knowledge of production planning and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) functionalities within SAP S/4HANA to drive efficiency, compliance, and innovation in complex, regulated industries.

Responsibilities

• Conduct business process analysis and blueprinting for SAP implementations or upgrades, focusing on ETO workflows involving variant configuration, project systems (PS) integration, and bills of materials (BOMs) for complex assemblies.
• Lead the re-design, configuration, and optimization of SAP s PP module in MTO and ETO environments. Tailored the system to aerospace and defense requirements such as custom engineering, long-lead-time materials, and government compliance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement targeted improvements.
• Optimize production planning processes, including demand management, capacity planning, and shop floor control, by leveraging advanced S/4HANA features such as embedded PP/DS (Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling).
• Configure and manage MRP runs in S/4HANA, including MRP Live for real-time planning, exception management, and integration with advanced analytics to handle the volatile demand and supply chain disruptions common in the aerospace and defense industries.
• Coach end-users and super-users on SAP PP functionalities, creating documentation and best practice guides specific to MTO/ETO manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of hands-on experience as an SAP PP Consultant, with at least 5 years focused on MTO and ETO processes in the aerospace and defense industry.
• Proven track record of full lifecycle SAP implementations (from blueprint to go-live) in S/4HANA environments, including at least 2-3 end-to-end projects in aerospace/defense.
• Deep expertise in SAP S/4HANA planning and MRP capabilities, including MRP areas, lot-sizing procedures, procurement proposals, and integration with advanced planning systems for demand management.
• Strongly prefer a consultant with experience in project systems integration.
