Job Description

Join Pride Health as a Certified Medical Assistant at Houston, TX! This is a 3 months contract role offering a great opportunity for experience to excel in a dynamic environment.


Role: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

Location: Houston, TX 77030

Shift Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:30 AM 5:30 PM

Hours per Week: 40 hours

Start Date: ASAP


Pay Highlights: $19-22/hour (Based on years of experience)


Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and interact with patients, families, and visitors in a professional, timely, and culturally sensitive manner.
  • Virtually room patients and families to begin telemedicine visits.
  • Provide technical support for patients using the patient portal and video platform.
  • Manage check-in/check-out processes using the electronic appointment system.
  • Communicate proactively with patients, providers, and staff about scheduling, delays, and visit flow.
  • Identify and report prolonged wait times to clinic management.
  • Obtain translation services for patients when necessary.
  • Implement customer service recovery when addressing dissatisfied patients.
  • Coordinate communications (calls, faxes, pages, etc.) in a timely, professional manner.
  • Attend staff meetings, complete required training, and escalate tasks/issues to licensed staff when needed.


Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience: Minimum 2 years related healthcare or medical assistant experience.

Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

(Any One Required)

  • EMT-I / EMT-P (Texas Dept. of State Health Services)
  • Licensed Paramedic (Texas Dept. of State Health Services)
  • NCMA (National Center for Competency Testing)
  • NRCMA (National Association of Health Professionals)
  • RMA-AAH (American Allied Health)
  • RMA-AAMP (American Association of Medical Personnel)
  • RMA-AMT (American Medical Technologist)
  • RMA-ARMA (American Registry of Medical Assistants)
