Job Details

Description
-Implements and utilizes multiple Database Management Systems ensuring database information is effectively organized and accessible to approved users.
-Plans, organizes and implements database designs with input from various Company personnel; tests programs and monitors physical database performance.
-Controls outcome of database performance and operation.
-Reviews and approves technical workability, quality and compatibility of physical data structures within data architecture.
-Provides technical guidance, consultation, and problem-solving services for Company personnel during database development and production support.
-Corrects errors and resolves problems associated with the Companies' databases.
-Designs and implements security of database information.
-Maintains detailed documentation of physical database functions, fields, etc. and data dictionary.
Required experience: Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and various operating programs/languages (Job Control Language, COBOL, Assembler Languages, etc.) and programming skills such as coding, programming logic, etc. Knowledge of processing logic of Company-based computer systems. Knowledge of database environment and multiple Database Management Systems such as DB2, SQL Server, and Nucleus systems. Knowledge and underwriting of a comprehensive methodology (4FRONT Methodology) used to plan, design, build and implement integrated information systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have Skills:
Strong experience with IBM DB2 LUW (Linux/Unix/Windows), MS SQL Server 2016 or higher.
Hands-on experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting
Proficiency in backup/recovery strategies, HADR, and disaster recovery procedures
Experience with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting
Solid understanding of database security, access controls, and auditing
Prior experience on Snowflake is a plus
Ability to work onsite and collaborate with cross-functional teams

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, NE.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
