You will be responsible for:
- Data Engineering - Sourcing, managing, optimizing, overseeing, and monitoring data retrieval, storage, and distribution throughout an organization
- Project Management - provide timely and accurate reporting on project activities to peers and leadership.
- Coordinate multi-functional teams of engineers and/or technicians as necessary to achieve project completion.
- Find opportunities to unlock new ways to creatively and innovatively solve business problems that impact processes, capabilities, and team.
- Work at a high technical expertise level involved in planning development and design of materials, equipment, and/or processes within lab/pilot scale and manufacturing environments
- Presentation within internal forums and in peer-reviewed scientific journals is encouraged.
- Collaborate with other scientists and engineers to advance the process of launching products by developing tools to model critical product, process, measurement, and material spaces.
- Utilize design of experiments; data acquisition, analysis, and interpretation.
- Perform and/or consult on best statistical and/or data analytic methods and technologies.
- Have strong analytical approach to problem solving to deliver innovative solutions.
- Connect to and query SQL databases (multiple flavors such as MSSQL, Oracle, Postgres, etc.)
- Utilize programming languages (e.g. Python, R, SAS, etc.) to develop and manage data streams to support product research and development.
- Source, manage, optimize, oversee, and monitor data retrieval, storage, and distribution of data throughout R&D.
- Utilize graphical tools to build dashboards and reports to describe complex product, process, measurement, and material spaces.
- Track, trend, develop, and implements equipment and/or process improvements that will increase efficiency, safety, product yield, and equipment reliability.
- Interact with cross-functional teams such as legal for intellectual property, clinic, and quality functions.
Qualifications
- A PhD in a relevant field (Math, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Chemistry, Engineering, etc.)
- Demonstrated leadership and/or significant participation in the scientific community
- Candidates must be detail-oriented, highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks.
- Candidates must have the ability to work individually (independently) as well as on a team.
- Candidates need to be proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Candidates must have strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Currently authorized to work in the U.S.
