About the Role:
Seeking a results-driven and detail-oriented Project Manager to lead initiatives involving the Ellucian Banner Finance module. This role is critical in supporting the modernization and efficiency of financial operations within the Higher Education institution. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of higher education finance practices, exceptional project management skills, and experience coordinating large-scale ERP initiatives.
Key Responsibilities: Manage the full project lifecycle for Ellucian Banner Finance implementation, upgrade, or optimization within a higher education environment. Develop and maintain detailed project plans, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and finance department objectives. Coordinate with institutional stakeholders, including Finance, Procurement, Budget, and IT teams, to gather requirements and manage expectations. Facilitate workshops and planning sessions to support process improvement, functional configuration, testing, and training efforts. Serve as the liaison between institutional teams and Ellucian consultants or third-party vendors. Track project milestones, deliverables, risks, and dependencies; provide timely updates to executive sponsors and steering committees. Oversee data migration, parallel testing, cutover activities, and post-go-live support strategies. Ensure adherence to institutional governance processes, PMBOK standards, and higher education best practices.
Required Qualifications: 5+ years of project management experience, with at least 2 years leading Ellucian Banner Finance projects in higher education. Solid understanding of higher education financial operations, including general ledger, purchasing, accounts payable/receivable, and budgeting. Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills. Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and work with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications: Current PMP certification. Experience with Banner SaaS/cloud migrations or finance modernization initiatives. Familiarity with other higher ed systems (Workday, Oracle, Peoplesoft) and integration practices. Background in change management or business process redesign.
