***Only qualified Technical Designer candidates located near the Manhattan, NY area to be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence***
Our client is the world's largest intimates' specialty retailer offering a wide assortment of modern, fashion-inspired collections including signature bras, panties, lingerie, casual sleepwear, swim and athleisure, as well as award-winning prestige fragrances and body care.
Average Hours: Part-Time, 24-32 hours per week (3 to 4 days, typically Monday thru Thursdays)
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Fashion, or equivalent experience.
Skills & Abilities
Must be okay with working an average of 24-32 hours per week.
3+ years of technical design experience
Technical education in garment fit & construction to degree level or equivalent work experience, specifically women's SPORT apparel. This candidate must have strong experience in sports bras/structured bras. This includes pad development, pad correction, and related compression fitting knowledge. This division is inclusive of all category's bra/pant/top/knit/woven/jackets/sweaters so candidate must be able to work on all product.
Extensive knowledge of pattern making, construction, fit & grading.
Experience using a product development technical specification program (i.e Centric)
Extensive knowledge of factory environment, manufacturing techniques & machinery (Sport apparel/bras)
Role:
Individual contributor position responsible for executing the technical design process from development to final fit.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for analyzing and evaluating garments to develop the correct fit specifications.
- Ensures that products are developed in a manner consistent with established fit quality, standards, manufacturer capabilities and cost specifications.
- Develops technical specifications and communicates fit to vendors/factories for approvals and corrections.
- Makes appropriate adjustments with factories as required to ensure integrity of design approved prototypes while monitoring quality and targeted price.
