Overview

The Manager II provides leadership to leaders and/or professionals and is accountable for the performance and results of multiple related teams across Real Estate Lending (REL). Decisions are guided by division objectives. The Leadership impacts the business results of a division by collaborating across (REL) to bring the REL strategy to life by delivering new and innovative ways to help our members residential finance needs through new and existing products and services. defining priorities, identifying resources, and developing policies and plans. The Manager I/II - Product Innovation is responsible for directing a comprehensive product strategy from product conception and definition through end of life and collaborating across all of Navy Federal to optimize our market & member share, competitive positioning, and credit risk.

Responsibilities
  • Functions as a central resource with design, development, quality, test, marketing and distribution as the product(s) move through their lifecycle
  • Collaborates to reinforce REL's strategic choices to those involved in the design, modification and evaluation of all phases of a specific product or group of products
  • Formulates and executes long-term plans for cost/ROI, member and market share, and a sophisticated member experience.. Promotes use of new technologies and industry-leading trends through Data Science & AI
  • Monitors macroeconomic indicators and tracks housing and mortgage/ equity market related trends. Proactively scans industry news and regulatory changes to identify emerging opportunities and risks. Works with REL's and enterprise analytics teams to assess the implications of these trends on REL's product strategy, market positioning, and portfolio performance
  • Collaborates across all of Navy Federal to optimize our market & member share, competitive positioning, and credit risk
  • Understands competitors' strategies, products, and positions and external economic factors to drive a competitive edge for our members across REL

Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in Product R&D, Innovation Management, and/or rapid prototype testing, with a strong emphasis in the mortgage and equity originations and servicing domains of expertise.Collaborative, entrepreneurial thinker who stays on top of the latest industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Advanced research, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Understanding of REL's products, market positions, membership, and mission is strongly desirable
  • Familiarity with Design Thinking methodologies is desirable
  • Experience researching and socializing state of the art technologies
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, MBA or equivalent desired
