Description

The qualified Engineer / Scientist will be part of a strong team of scientists and engineers in our San Diego office committed to addressing some of our nation s most challenging defense problems. The candidate will be tasked with harnessing vast amounts of high-quality ocean data to develop theories and solutions for application in the area of Maritime Domain Awareness. The role requires the use of physical and mathematical principles for the development of algorithms to extract information from radar, infrared, and visible band sensor data.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop innovative signal processing algorithms and data analysis techniques.

Analyze ocean data from multiwavelength sensors.

Model relevant ocean phenomenology using physical principles.

Perform signal detection and characterization.

Create efficient implementations of solutions in software.

Document results for customers and present results at meetings.

Work collegially within a talented team of peers.

Basic Qualifications

Master s degree or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field

Intense interest in algorithm development, large dataset analysis, complex data phenomenology, signal detection and characterization, hydrodynamics, and physical oceanography.

Strong analytical skills in the areas of detection and estimation theory, linear algebra and matrix computations, spectral analysis, mathematical modeling, and algorithm and software design.

Fluency in MATLAB or similar data analysis package.

Proven track record of innovation, problem solving, and successful technical results.

Be self-motivated and a team player, ready for a fast-paced environment and high expectations.

Must be able to obtain a US Government Top Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

Additional software experience such as C, C++, shell scripting, Perl, Java, Python, MPI, Cuda.

Experience with public speaking, client interaction, customer presentations, research documentation, task planning and scheduling.

Current US Government Top Secret security clearance

Pay Range:Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00
