DESCRIPTION:

Customer facing solution validation service engineer, providing support to customer on validating their solution, role will include below responsibilities:

- Engage with customers and other Cisco stakeholders on successful planning and execution of validation engagements.

- Support Webscale or Enterprise customers to accelerate implementation of new platforms/solutions.

- Validate new design solutions to meet customer requirements.

- Drive requirements discussions, analyze test requirements, build test lab configurations, author and execute test plans, and document results.

- Identify key issues and gaps and work with engineering and delivery teams to resolve them.

- Collaborate with Solution Architects from Delivery and Sales teams to meet customer needs

- Innovate to gain efficiency and accelerate validation efforts.

- Collaborate with other engineers to ensure successful project delivery.

Minimum Requirements and Desired Skills:

Cisco ACI Expertise:
Deep hands-on experience with APIC, fabric setup, contracts, policies, and multi-site
Capable of troubleshooting fabric discovery issues, endpoint learning problems, and L3Out configurations

Routing & Switching (Advanced):
Strong knowledge and hands-on with OSPF, BGP, route maps, redistribution, and peering
Experience designing and implementing high-availability networks and failover scenarios

Cisco Nexus Deep-Dive:
Expertise with NX-OS, vPC, FabricPath, VXLAN, EVPN
Configuration and troubleshooting of Nexus 2k/5k/7k/9k

Storage Networking:
Proficient in Fibre Channel switching, SAN routing, MDS switches
Integrating storage systems (NetApp, EMC, Pure) with Cisco networking

Automation & Scripting:
Experience with Python, Ansible, or Terraform for data center automation
Working knowledge of REST APIs (especially ACI APIs)

Troubleshooting & Design:
Advanced packet-level analysis with Wireshark or Cisco tools
Leads problem management, performs RCA (root cause analysis) for recurring issues
Participates in data center design, migrations, and upgrades

Cross-Team Leadership:
Works with storage, compute, and security teams for end-to-end solutions
Mentors L2 engineers, contributes to knowledge base and SOPs

Certifications (Preferred):
Cisco CCNP Data Center or CCIE Data Center (or equivalent)
Specialist-level ACI certifications (DCACI, DCID)rs
