About the Role:

The Head of Affinity - Accident & Health (A&H) will lead the strategic direction and growth of the company's A&H affinity distribution channels. This individual will be responsible for acquiring and managing partnerships with associations, employer groups, membership organizations, digital platforms, and other entities that can distribute tailored A&H products. The ideal candidate is a commercial leader with deep knowledge of the A&H market, strong B2B2C experience, and a proven ability to structure, scale, and optimize affinity programs.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Develop and execute the affinity distribution strategy for A&H lines including accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, short-term medical, gap, and other supplemental health products.
  • Identify and prioritize target markets (e.g., gig economy, students, retirees, SMEs, unions, travel groups, etc.).
  • Lead business case development for new affinity opportunities and embedded partnerships.
  • Source and negotiate strategic affinity partnerships that drive policy volume and persistency.
  • Create customized A&H programs that meet the needs of each partner's member base, with competitive pricing and benefits design.
  • Manage partner lifecycle from onboarding through growth optimization and renewal.
  • Collaborate with product, actuarial, and underwriting teams to develop or tailor A&H offerings specific to partner segments.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations for group and association plans (e.g., ERISA, ACA implications, DOI filings).
  • Leverage digital tools (APIs, portals, CRM) to support efficient quote-to-bind, reporting, and servicing for partners.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team of partnership managers and account executives.
  • Set performance metrics and drive accountability for premium growth, margin, persistency, and engagement KPIs.
  • Collaborate with internal marketing and partner co-marketing teams to drive member engagement and conversion.
  • Oversee campaign development, testing, and optimization to improve program performance.
  • Champion data-driven approaches to segmentation, pricing feedback loops, and upsell/cross-sell opportunities.

Qualifications, Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, or related field
  • 15+ years in the insurance industry, with at least 5 years focused on A&H and/or supplemental health products.
  • Significant experience building and managing affinity, employer group, or membership-based distribution models.
  • Strong understanding of A&H underwriting principles, pricing mechanics, and regulatory considerations.
  • Demonstrated success in negotiating, launching, and growing multi-channel partnerships.
  • Proficiency with digital and embedded insurance models preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% - 20%

  • Experience working in or with MGAs, TPAs, or digital brokers in the A&H space.

For CA, NY, NJ or IL: The base salary range for this position is $200,000 - $275,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location. All offers include access to a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
