Mainframe Batch Scheduler

We are looking for a Mainframe Batch Scheduler for a position in Jacksonville, FL. This is an onsite position. The ideal candidate will be experience with IBM Z Workload Scheduler. Looking for 5 years of mainframe batch scheduling experience and 3 or more years of experience in IBM Z Workload Scheduler.

• Manage and maintain enterprise batch schedules using IBM Z Workload Scheduler.
• Support daily operations and execution of batch jobs in a high-availability mainframe environment.
• Collaborate with application teams and infrastructure support to ensure batch jobs run smoothly and meet SLA requirements.
• Troubleshoot job failures, schedule conflicts, and dependency issues; implement permanent solutions.
• Perform schedule migrations, audits, and maintenance tasks as needed.
• Provide documentation and knowledge sharing across the scheduling and operations teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts around batch processes and automation.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in mainframe batch scheduling in a complex enterprise environment.
• 3+ years specifically working with IBM Z Workload Scheduler (TWS/OPC).
• Strong understanding of job streams, dependencies, calendars, and event-driven scheduling.
• Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve scheduling issues independently.
• Familiarity with JCL, REXX, and system utilities related to job processing.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Mainframe batch scheduling in a complex enterprise environment.
• IBM Z Workload Scheduler (TWS/OPC).
• Familiarity with JCL, REXX, and system utilities related to job processing.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience integrating workload scheduling with distributed systems or cross-platform scheduling tools.
• Exposure to DevOps or automation frameworks in the context of job scheduling.
• Prior involvement in mainframe modernization or migration projects.
