Contract, 12 Months (Likely Extension)
This position is primarily remote. Candidates must reside a commutable distance to Reston, VA to consider working onsite roughly six times per year for PI Planning purposes. This includes individuals up and down the East Coast. Travel would be at the expense of the individual.

Overview & Responsibilities:
Our client is seeking a Lead Data Engineer with deep, hands-on expertise in Ab Initio development. This is a critical, long-term project focused on building the data pipelines that will power the firm's new Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applications. You will be responsible for using Ab Initio to move large volumes of structured and unstructured data from on-premise environments into the AWS cloud. This is a unique opportunity to bridge traditional, high-demand ETL skills with a modern cloud and AI tech stack. You will
Serve as the primary developer for building and maintaining data pipelines using Ab Initio.
Design and implement processes to push structured and unstructured data from on-premise systems to the AWS cloud.
Integrate Ab Initio pipelines with AWS services to support AI/ML applications.
Work with AWS services that will consume the data, including S3, Athena, and Kendra.

Required Qualifications
Must have significant past experience as an Ab Initio Developer.
Proven experience building complex data pipelines using Ab Initio.
Experience working within an AWS environment.
Familiarity with core AWS data services such as S3, Athena, and Kendra.
