An Application Architect specializing in Mainframe Modernization is an expert in mainframe technologies and modernization strategies.
They possess a deep understanding of various modernization approaches, such as in-place modernization and migration of mainframe applications to cloud platforms.
This professional is skilled in assessing mainframe client needs, defining strategies, and creating roadmaps for seamless mainframe modernization.
They are also adept at recommending and implementing appropriate tools and technologies to ensure a successful transition.
In essence, an Application Architect in Mainframe Modernization is a key resource for organizations looking to maintain and enhance their mainframe systems while adapting to modern technological advancements.
*HARDWARE ONLY*
- Experience in monitoring the production and development environments ensuring hardware is functioning as designed.
- Experience in real time break fix of any hardware failures.
- Mainframe hardware infrastructure (z15/z16/HMC/DS8000/TS7700/TS4500/Flash Systems)
- Perform triage, diagnosis, and repair actions for all incidents.
- Knowledgeable in incident/change management tools such as ServiceNow and IBM case submission process and tools.
- Knowledge in hardware patch management installations.
- Knowledge in implementing microcode upgrades.
- Fluent knowledge with system commands supports the hardware infrastructure environment.
- IBM z/OS (Mainframe) and z/VM (zLinux)
- ServiceNow incident, change management, CMDB, & Jira
- Ability to script using Linux BASH, Python, RESTful APIs a
