Randstad is seeking a highly skilled Desktop Systems Administrator for a key client in the Philadelphia area. This role is a hybrid of technical engineering and operational management, focusing on the architecture and maintenance of a robust Windows environment. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of endpoint devices-from designing custom images using MDT and optimizing deployment task sequences to automating administrative tasks through PowerShell. Beyond the technical "hands-on" work, you will serve as a point of contact for vendor relations and project coordination, ensuring all services align with ITIL best practices and are meticulously tracked within ServiceNow.

responsibilities:
- OS Lifecycle Management: Design, build, and maintain "Gold Images" for Windows 10 and 11 using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT).
- Deployment Automation: Create and optimize complex task sequences, deployment shares, and custom scripts to streamline large-scale OS migrations.
- Scripting & Efficiency: Develop and execute PowerShell and VBScript solutions to automate routine administrative tasks and system configurations.
- System Troubleshooting: Serve as an escalation point for complex hardware and software issues, ensuring minimal downtime for end-users.
- Service Management: Manage tickets and workflows within ServiceNow, adhering to ITIL frameworks for incident and change management.
- Operational Oversight: Lead technical projects, manage vendor relationships, and ensure all documentation is current and accurate.
qualifications:
Technical Expertise: Proven experience managing Windows 10/11 operating systems in an enterprise environment.
Imaging Tools: Advanced proficiency with MDT, including experience with task sequences and deployment share management.
Coding Skills: Strong ability to write and debug PowerShell scripts; familiarity with VBScript syntax and error handling is essential.
Process Knowledge: Solid understanding of ITIL principles and experience working within the ServiceNow platform.
Professionalism: Excellent oral and written communication skills with a track record of successful vendor and project management.
Location: Ability to work on-site in Philadelphia
