Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at the client site in Kentucky 

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development particularly in C, Pro C and UNIX environments This role requires a proactive individual who can contribute to the design development and implementation of software solutions with a focus on enhancing our MMIS Medicaid Management Information System capabilities

Responsibilities

Design develop and maintain software applications using C and Pro C in UNIX and Linux environments

Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications

Write efficient SQL queries for database management and data manipulation

Utilize shell scripting to automate processes and improve system performance

Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices

Debug and troubleshoot software issues, providing timely resolutions

Contribute to the documentation of software designs processes and user manuals

Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance software development practices

Mandatory Skills

10 years of experience in below skills

Proficiency in C and Pro C programming languages

Strong experience with UNIX operating systems expertise in HPUX and Linux is highly desirable

Solid understanding of SQL for database interactions

Experience with shell scripting for automation and process improvement

Familiarity with the MMIS domain is an added advantage

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum

Experience with version control systems preferably Git

Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field

Relevant certifications in software development or UNIX systems are a plus

Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing requirements
