About the Role
We are looking for a talented Conversational Designer to join our growing AI and automation team. You will be responsible for designing intuitive, natural, and human-centric conversations across chatbots, voice assistants, and omnichannel virtual agents. This role blends UX writing, conversation flow mapping, and user empathy to create delightful and functional AI-powered experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and prototype conversational flows, intents, prompts, and responses for chatbots and voice assistants using tools like Kore.ai, Dialogflow, or Amazon Lex.
- Collaborate with product managers, AI engineers, linguists, and UX teams to define conversation architecture and user journeys.
- Write clear, concise, and contextually appropriate bot responses aligned with brand tone and user expectations.
- Conduct user research and A/B testing to optimize conversation performance and continuously improve the dialogue experience.
- Analyze bot performance metrics (drop-offs, fallbacks, NLU accuracy) and refine flows to reduce friction and improve satisfaction.
- Ensure consistency, accessibility, and compliance in all conversational content.
- Maintain design documentation, style guides, and reusable conversation modules for scalability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in UX Design, Linguistics, Communications, HCI, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience designing for conversational interfaces (chatbots, voice, IVR, virtual assistants).
- Experience with conversational AI platforms such as Kore.ai, Google Dialogflow, Rasa, or Microsoft Bot Framework.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with a portfolio demonstrating conversational UI work.
- Familiarity with NLU/NLP concepts, intents/entities, and AI bot training methods.
- Ability to understand business goals, user pain points, and translate them into effective dialogue design.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with multilingual bot design and localization.
- Knowledge of usability testing, analytics tools, and CX/UX optimization.
- Background in cognitive psychology or behavioral design is a plus.
- Understanding of voice interaction design (VUI) is a strong advantage.
