Seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join a premier manufacturing client of ours.
Will play a key role in driving operational efficiency, improving material flow, and solving system and process issues across the plant. The role requires a blend of project engineering, process improvement, and systems thinking — with a strong understanding of manufacturing principles and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
Need a master-level engineer with a background in process engineering, material flow optimization, and project management for receiving and warehouse operations. The role requires strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work cross-functionally with supply chain, production, and IT teams to address key pain points like bin location errors, inventory movements, and scheduling inefficiencies.
Compensation: $130,000-$140,000
Location: Clearwater, FL (everyday on-site)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute continuous improvement initiatives across the plant, focusing on material flow, receiving, bin location management, and system-driven product movements.
- Analyze and resolve systemic issues related to inventory accuracy, product traceability, and warehouse/bin location logic.
- Serve as project engineer for improvements related to inbound receiving and material handling processes.
- Collaborate with supply chain, IT, and operations to optimize how systems pull and stage products for production and shipping.
- Conduct time studies, value stream mapping, and root cause analyses to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Develop and implement sustainable countermeasures to reduce waste, improve productivity, and increase throughput.
- Support implementation of Lean tools (5S, Standard Work, Visual Management) and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Partner with operations and engineering to ensure proper alignment between physical process improvements and ERP/MRP systems.
- Track and report key metrics to measure improvement initiatives and ROI.
- Provide technical support and leadership on cross-functional engineering projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and material flow.
- Proven experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies; Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of material handling systems, ERP/WMS systems, and warehouse layout optimization.
- Experience managing or supporting project engineering initiatives—especially in receiving or warehouse operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
- Comfortable working on the shop floor and engaging with cross-functional teams to drive change.
