Your primary responsibilities will include mechanical design and NPI execution for SIG products, with a focus on test equipment for Solid State Drives (SSDs).

This role requires strategic leadership, including setting development direction, mentoring team members, and driving alignment with SIG goals. You will guide technological development efforts by allocating resources to identify, evaluate, and co-develop solutions with partners and suppliers. Additionally, you will lead all aspects of early prototyping and handle the transition of equipment manufacturing from design engineering to contract manufacturers for high-volume production!

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of engineers in designing and supporting semiconductor test equipment, including interface/load boards.
  • Manage resources, set priorities, and mentor team members to meet compose and development goals.
  • Collaborate multi-functionally to define requirements, schedules, and deliverables for smooth project execution.
  • Lead all aspects of mechanical design, prototyping, testing, and transition to high-volume manufacturing, including PCA and system-level NPI.
  • Support customer qualification and deployment of prototypes, including design iterations and issue resolution.
  • Lead design transfers to contract manufacturers and global repair centers; support released designs through troubleshooting and enhancements.
  • Drive cost reduction, quality improvement, and process efficiency while ensuring policy compliance.
  • Provide technical leadership, contribute to SIG strategy, and lead process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain domain expertise and engage hands-on in prototype builds and production hand-offs as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of engineering experience; prior leadership experience preferred
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and solid understanding of structural, thermal, and fluid/air simulation principles
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and team leadership skills
