About the Role
We're looking for a Media Engineer to support a high-performance media production environment. This role is hands-on and highly technical, ideal for someone who thrives in live broadcast settings and has a strong grasp of both traditional broadcast systems and modern IP/cloud-based workflows.
You'll be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the systems that power live television, streaming, and post-production. From upgrading IPTV systems across campus to working on RF and transmission infrastructure, your work will directly impact how content is delivered to millions of viewers.

What You'll Be Doing
- System Sustainment & Troubleshooting: Act as a Tier 2/3 escalation point for complex technical issues across media production, playout, and distribution systems.
- Broadcast Infrastructure Projects: Support the upgrade and integration of IPTV boxes, RF systems, and transmission technologies.
- Cloud & On-Prem Media Workflows: Maintain hybrid environments involving AWS, Azure, and local compute/storage platforms.
- Studio & Control Room Support: Manage and optimize studio tech including video walls, VR sets, signal processors, and automation systems.
- Monitoring & Diagnostics: Use tools like Spectrum Analyzers and Evertz VLPRO to ensure system health and signal integrity.
- Documentation & Collaboration: Create and interpret technical drawings (AutoCAD), contribute to documentation, and work closely with engineering and operations teams.
Ideal Candidate Profile

Must-Have Skills & Experience
- 5+ years in media engineering or broadcast technology environments.
- Strong knowledge of SMPTE standards (e.g., ST 2110, ST 2059, ST 292M).
- Hands-on experience with Evertz systems (VistaLink, Magnum, VLPRO, etc.).
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, NodeJS, Bash, PowerShell).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and foundational certifications.
- Experience with compression formats (MPEG2/4, HEVC, JPEG 2000/XS).
- Ability to interpret AutoCAD and technical documentation.
- Valid driver's license and ability to work in elevated environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Experience with Nielsen, VANC, Linear Acoustics, and IRDs.
- Familiarity with AWS S3, EC2, and Glacier services.
