Lead Machine Learning Engineer - Python

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Lead Machine Learning Engineer in the following locations: NJ, DE Eastern PA, Eastern MD, NYC and Northern VA.

Summary:
As a Machine Learning/Python Lead Software Engineer, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. They are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Responsibilities:
* Learn about and understand our supported businesses in order to drive practical and successful solution
* Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
* Create secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
* Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
* Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
* Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
* Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
* Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

REQUIREMENTS:
* Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
* Proficient in coding in one or more languages
* Advanced experience in Python and distributed computing frameworks such as PySpark
* Experience in setting up Machine Learning platform infrastructure and deploying to the cloud to develop and train machine learning models
* Hands-on experience and solid understanding of machine learning methods and MLOps, deploying and scaling ML and AI Models on Public cloud services
* Hands-on experience with AWS cloud-based application development and infrastructure - EC2, EKS
* Experience in designing and building AWS data pipelines using Lambda, SQS, SNS, Athena, Glue, EMR, S3 to facilitate ML training
* Experience analyzing and evaluating the ongoing performance of developed models
* Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
* Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
* Overall knowledge of the Model Development Life Cycle

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
* Practical cloud native experience
* In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
