The Work
Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a full-time Systems Engineer. This Systems Engineer will support the United Kingdom (UK) Tactical Tomahawk Weapons Control System (TTWCS) program within our C6ISR market segment at our Manassas, Virginia location. This individual will be part of a small team responsible for maintaining UK customer requirements, system hardware requirements, and interface specifications, for addressing a variety of systems engineering tasks, and defining and executing a test and acceptance program for the Tomahawk Weapon System (TWS) onboard UK Astute-class submarines.
This position involves frequent interaction and collaboration with customers and end-users. This Systems Engineer must be able to effectively communicate and interface across the team to address matters that affect execution or performance of the project and provide regular progress status and participate in required program planning. The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including customers, end-users, and internal teams, is essential.
This Systems Engineer must also participate in the full System Engineering life cycle, including system and hardware requirements development, hardware stand-up, system integration, test definition, test planning, system certification and sell-off, and system delivery and production support. The Systems Engineer should demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and a desire to optimize team efficiency throughout the entire lifecycle.
This position requires occasional international travel to the UK for several weeks at a time, as well as occasional local and domestic travel.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline with 2+ years of related professional experience or equivalent experience/combined education.
Experience with creating/maintaining Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEI&T) artifacts such as requirements specifications, interface specifications, verification matrices, test plans, test procedures, test reports, etc.
Experience with troubleshooting issues, analyzing test results, and problem/issue reporting and tracking
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Ability to travel up to 10% (5 weeks per year)
Qualified candidates must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. This requires U.S. Citizenship.

Desired skills

Experience with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) methodology and tools (Cameo MagicDraw preferred)
SEI&T experience with submarine or ship combat or weapons systems
Experience coordinating Integration and Test activities among multiple organizations
Knowledgeable in software programming or scripting languages (e.g., C++, Java, Python, Bash)
Knowledgeable in operating system and networking concepts
Experience with test automation tools
Working knowledge of electrical and electronic test equipment

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $70,100 - $123,625. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
