Job Title: AWS Cloud Engineer

Location: 100% Remote

Duration: 12+ Months Contract

Position Summary:

The hiring manager is now open to considering AWS Engineers who are comfortable taking on some Business Analyst responsibilities. Perticularly around requirements gathering, participation in Agile ceremonies, and related tasks. They're not seeking a traditional Business Analyst at this point, as most candidates interviewed so far have strong BA experience but lack sufficient AWS knowledge and have struggled with even basic AWS-related technical questions. The interview will remain technically focused on AWS. This team is responsible for supporting Agile cloud and infrastructure initiatives, aimed at delivering scalable, secure, and efficient solutions that drive business value. The ideal candidate should have a solid technical background in AWS, experience working closely with engineering teams, and the ability to contribute meaningfully to Agile processes and requirements gathering for cloud-based projects.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on AWS experience in a Business Analyst or related role.
  • At least one active AWS Certification (e.g., Solutions Architect, SysOps, Developer).
  • Strong background in Agile methodology and active participation in scrum teams/daily standups.
  • Demonstrated experience gathering and managing requirements in complex, cloud-based environments.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, CloudFormation, etc.
  • Ability to confidently speak in AWS terminology when working with developers and engineers.
  • Experience with backend systems and infrastructure-related initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or enterprise IT environments.
  • Experience working in a large, distributed enterprise setting.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, compliance, and governance best practices.
