Location Requirement: Onsite or Remote? Candidates must be CURRENT WI residents. No relocation is allowed. This position will be onsite a minimum of two (2) days per week.

This position functions as an application development specialist. The primary responsibility is to provide application development and maintenance support activities for the department. This position ensures the development of efficient system operations across a variety of technical and information system areas. This position is responsible for all systems development life cycle (SDLC) activities including research, analysis, evaluation, planning, development, implementation and delivery of automated solutions for DFI.

Responsibilities also include identifying and recommending potential Internet/Intranet applications, assuring compliance with DFI's application and web site standards, and mentoring less senior application developers.

Knowledge /Skills/Ability (KSA):

  1. Knowledge of systems development practices and principles.
  2. Knowledge of systems analysis techniques.
  3. Knowledge of cost benefit analysis techniques.
  4. Knowledge of object oriented principles and design patterns.
  5. Professional oral and written communication skills.
  6. Problem determination and resolution skills.
  7. Knowledge of web-enabled and e-commerce applications.
  8. Knowledge of client/server and Internet concepts, procedures, and techniques.
  9. Knowledge of Windows Server.
  10. Knowledge of ASP.NET Web Forms.
  11. Expert knowledge of Microsoft .NET technologies such as C# , ASP.NET MVC and Core
  12. Expert knowledge of Web Services, JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheets, Entity Framework
    and AJAX
  13. Working knowledge of Database Modeling/Design.
  14. Expert Working knowledge of SQL and Stored Procedures.
  15. Knowledge of project management methodologies such as waterfall and agile.

Required Skills: 6 or more years of experience in the following:

  • ASP .NET Core Bazor and ASP.NET web forms with strong UI design skills
  • WCF Web Services and Web APIs
  • SQL Server

Desired Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Database Modeling/design
  • Expert working knowledge of SQL and Stored Procedures
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile
  • Certification is nice to have but not required
