Required Skills:

  • Overall Years of Experience: 5+ years
  • 3 year s experience in Python
  • 3-5 year s experience with Kubernetes
  • 3-5 year s experience in Database administration: Postgres, RDS (eg. Aurora)
  • Experience in efficiency-focused cloud infrastructure projects: monitoring, reporting, consolidation, and right-sizing
  • Operational Experience with cloud-based service infrastructure (DNS, loadbalancing, ingress, telemetry and logging)

The MLPT Polymer group supports a range of Machine Learning platform products including: Bolt, Hub, Lightning and many Data Platform systems. These are all internal production tools supported via multiple Polymer offerings, including authentication (Notary), authorization (Directory), and collaboration (Squad) services. The ML ecosystem at Apple has increasingly adopted Polymer services over the previous 3 years.The team is lean, building and operating multiple services to internal customers. Critical objectives within the team are related to each and every service: high uptime/zero downtime (availability), efficiently scaled (up to 1000 requests per second) and performance (sub-second latency) for our customers.

We would like to hire a contractor to:

Perform Database administration tasks such as database migration, instrumenting of telemetry, performance monitoring, cost monitoring and consolidation.
Drive several efficiency-related tasks including providing detailed telemetry / monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of cloud infrastructure.
Perform cloud infrastructure operational tasks, including managing Kubernetes clusters and performing improvements and regular maintenance.
