urgent need is for more of a Terraform focused migration database engineer that has strong SQL Server to AWS migration
Position Overview: Lead the migration of SQL Server databases from on-premises environments to AWS.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and manage database solutions in AWS.
Ensure high availability and disaster recovery solutions using Always On, clustering, and other technologies.
Manage and maintain database security, including logins and roles.
Develop, deploy, and manage SSIS packages.
Monitor and optimize database performance and capacity planning.
Create and maintain documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.
Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration and performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.
Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
AWS certification (preferred).
Proven experience in migrating SQL Server databases from on-premises to cloud environments, specifically AWS.
Extensive experience with SQL Server, including SSIS, logins, jobs, Always On, and clustering.
Strong understanding of database security, backup and recovery, and performance tuning.
Experience with AWS CloudFormation.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
