Primary Talent Partners has a 12 month contract opening for a Software Engineer (Embedded) to join a multinational medical device company for an onsite role operating out of Boston, MA.

Pay:

$60.00/hr - $70.00/hr based on experience and academia
Contract: 12 months, extensions likely, conversion possible
Type: W-2, cannot support C2C or provide visa sponsorship
Onsite: 100% Onsite in Boston, MA

About the Role:
We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to support the Robotic Assisted Surgery platform. This role is based in Boston, MA. You will join a world-class team developing software for surgical robotics, collaborating closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to enhance this innovative platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot embedded software in C/C++ for robotic surgical devices.
  • Support board bring-up, system integration, and validation testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine requirements, design solutions, and ensure quality.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, with opportunities to act as Scrum Master or Product Owner.
Must Have:
  • Bachelor s degree and 4+ years of relevant experience (or Master s degree and 2+ years).
  • Proficiency in C/C++ with strong embedded software development background.
  • Hands-on experience with embedded devices, board bring-up, and Linux/QNX or similar OS.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum/SAFe methodologies.
  • Python Experience.
  • Medical Device industry experience.
Nice to Have:
  • Background in software architecture design.
  • Experience with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot).
  • Certified Scrum Master
