Specialized experience is defined as: Conducting information systems security evaluations, audits, and reviews to identify vulnerabilities, risks and protection needs of information systems; developing security specifications, technical controls and testing plans for automated information systems; reviewing audit results and implementing recommendations relating to security and information assurance policy and procedures.
TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS:
Time-in-Grade for entry at the GS-07: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-05 or higher grade in Federal Service.
Time-in-Grade for entry at the GS-09: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-07 or higher grade in Federal Service.
Time-in-Grade for entry at the GS-11: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-09 or higher grade in Federal Service.
** The effective date of your SF-50 must reflect that you will meet the 52-week time in grade requirement within 30 days of the announcement closing. **
This position is developmental and selections may be made at the GS-07, GS-09, or GS-11 entry grade levels. Once eligibility and qualification requirements are met, selectees will be eligible for promotion at management discretion to the GS-09 and GS-11 grade levels without further competition.

S.A.A. is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership.
For Entry at the GS-09 Level:
Qualifying Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of graduate education leading to a Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, info science, info systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or tech management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above & required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
For Entry at the GS-11 Level:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, info science, info systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or tech management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above & required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

Duties
Help
- Conducts information systems security evaluations, audits, assessments and reviews to identify vulnerabilities, risks and protection needs.
- Assesses security threats and implements corrective action. Implements modifications to systems to minimize vulnerabilities. Troubleshoots security threats and vulnerabilities in response to incident reports.
- Monitors and evaluates compliance with IT security policies and procedures in the development of information systems.
- Understands core components of Federal Information Systems Control Audit Manual (FISCAM) and will assist applications with FISCAM and audit compliance questions and requirements.
- Prepares technical and end-user system documentation including functional descriptions, maintenance manuals, test and implementation plans, cost analysis, specification documents, and feasibility studies.
- Participates in network and systems design to ensure implementation of appropriate systems security policies and procedures. Continually evaluates and recommends adoption of new IT security methods that enhance capabilities.
