Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled iSeries / Power Systems Manager to lead a team of engineers responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of iSeries systems within a major casino resort IT environment. This position will play a critical role in system operations, project leadership, team development, and service delivery-ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance across the enterprise.

We are seeking a highly skilled iSeries / Power Systems Manager to lead a team of engineers responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of iSeries systems within a major casino resort IT environment. This position will play a critical role in system operations, project leadership, team development, and service delivery-ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance across the enterprise.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of iSeries engineers, providing technical direction and administrative oversight.
- Serve as escalation point for complex technical issues related to iSeries / Power Systems.
- Collaborate with IT managers and technical staff to participate in incident response and system status communications.
- Plan, design, implement, and coordinate iSeries support activities.
- Act as IT Crisis Manager, ensuring effective communication and resolution of major incidents.
- Drive adoption of new technologies and methodologies to address evolving business needs.
- Supervise day-to-day operations and train team members on emerging systems and tools.
- Mentor and coach staff; manage workloads, assignments, evaluations, and professional development plans.
- Oversee task scheduling, project deadlines, and prioritization of service requests and incidents.
- Provide KPI data and trend analysis for leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with IT quality, security, and operational standards.
- Develop and maintain service level agreements (SLAs) and business level agreements (BLAs).
- Manage iSeries system security and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and update policy and procedures documentation.
- Contribute to knowledgebase and documentation, including SOPs and standards.
- Serve as primary point of contact for iSeries-related projects.
- Identify and implement performance improvements and process optimization strategies.
- Oversee performance tuning, maintenance, and reporting for iSeries systems.
- Communicate effectively with executives, management, and cross-functional teams.
- Manage and prioritize workload and project execution across the iSeries team.
- Delegate tasks in alignment with evolving business priorities.
- Maintain consistent and regular attendance, including availability for on-call and after-hours support.
- Adhere to safety protocols and perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent professional experience accepted.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Gaming Control Board registration and other certifications or licenses as required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing technical teams in enterprise IT environments.
- Strong technical foundation in IBM iSeries / Power Systems.
- Practical knowledge of networking protocols and services such as DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP.
- Hands-on experience supporting multiple iSeries environments.
- Familiarity with high-availability and replication tools (e.g., iTERA).
- Understanding of enterprise infrastructure components (LAN/WAN, UPS systems, etc.).
- ITIL certification highly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and process improvement skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic setting.
- Experience in staff development, performance management, and leadership.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- Must maintain a clean, professional appearance in alignment with company standards.
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
