Accepting local candidates to Michigan ONLY. Position will be hybrid, in office 2 days a week upon start and there is NO REMOTE ONLY option.

Tasks:
The Data Warehouse Architect will work with State and contract staff and the operational SACWIS/CCWIS system developers to ensure that the operational system database will support the data needs of the Child Welfare Data Warehouse, and the functionality needed to extract the needed data on a regular basis.
Work with State and contract staff to design and load the Child Welfare Data Warehouse database model to support the reporting and analytic needs of DHHS.
As the operational SACWIS/CCWIS project continues, work with State, contract, and the operational SACWIS/CCWIS contractor staff to make needed changes to the Child Welfare data warehouse that may evolve from the operational SACWIS/CCWIS system.
Work closely with State and contract staff to ensure that they are fully aware of the decisions and impacts involved in the supporting and/or enhancing the DHHS Data Warehouse models and can support and extend them by the end of the contract.
Child Welfare Data Warehouse Architects perform application development tasks in support of building business intelligence applications and integrating data warehouse resources into other DHHS applications. In addition, they provide database expertise to other application developers in close collaboration with DBAs and other data management staff.
Creating data warehouse-based applications including reporting, dashboards and other information analysis, visualizations and delivery systems.
Extract, transform, and load systems to move data from the various operational systems in which it is collected to a cleansed, consolidated data warehouse.
Work with data warehouse Federal reporting team members and end user query developers to design and improve database queries.
Data warehouse Architects are also expected to be able to work with agency requesters to define and develop new queries and provide training and technical support to both DTMB developers and end user query developers.
Working with end user requestors to understand their data needs and create and implement solutions to those needs.
Develop and present training classes for DTMB developers to better understand how to use the Teradata and BI development tools to create and implement reporting solution using the data warehouse.
Provide one on one support for developers and end users to assist them in accomplishing their federal data reporting needs.

This position is assigned to support the Child Welfare Data Warehouse team in developing Federal reporting, ad-hoc, ETL, and Business Objects reports that are critical to the success of the application such as NYTD, AFCARS, and NCANDS. Also, any other projects that need ETL support that add value to the Department and end users to get them the data they need for them to be more productive.
