Position Description: The Information Technology Architect (Senior) shall provide expertise in the most current principles and practices of architecture data management systems and experience in large system designs, and with data modeling in the information management arena. This individual provides expertise in modeling and organizing information to facilitate support of projects or information architecture. The individual also provides guidance on how and what to data and process models. The position primarily deals with transition planning from legacy to modern systems by concentrating on information flows, data exchange, and data translation standardization services:
- Lead the analysis, design, and implementation of secure and scalable enterprise cloud platforms (primarily AWS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) architecture aligned with organizational strategy
- Define and maintain current state architecture blueprints and develop high-level architecture designs for cloud-native applications and systems integration
- Architect and implement DevOps and SecDevOps solutions using tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, SonarQube, Nexus, Ansible, and Terraform to enable secure CI/CD pipelines
- Design and manage Kubernetes-based orchestration (e.g., EKS), ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability of containerized applications
- Provide architectural guidance for middleware, web technologies, and data integration solutions, including EDI and custom APis for enterprise applications
- Lead reviews of application and integration architectures to ensure alignment with security and compliance frameworks
- Support the development of custom solutions using modern platforms and frameworks such as Nodejs, Spring, and Angular
- Apply expertise in Master Data Management (MDM) solutions where applicable to support consistency and accuracy of enterprise data
- Design and maintain secure cloud architectures, emphasizing IAM integration using platforms like SailPoint and ForgeRock
- Perform regular reviews of cloud infrastructure, configurations, and integrations to validate compliance and platform standards
- Recommend and implement optimizations for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency across infrastructure and product deployments AB. Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for critical production issues and lead root cause analysis across multi-tier cloud architectures
- Serve as an internal consultant and mentor, driving adoption of modern architecture principles and ensuring alignment with enterprise roadmaps AD. Assess emerging technologies, conduct proof-of-concept exercises, and advise stakeholders on potential business value and implementation strategies
- Produce detailed technical documentation, including system design specifications, process models, SOPs, and architectural runbooks
- Effectively collaborate with business and technical stakeholders across cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams, translating complex technical information into actionable plans
Education: Bachelor s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field. Master s degree preferred.
General Experience: At least ten (10) years of experience planning, designing, building, and implementing IT systems:
- Demonstrated expertise in enterprise-level cloud platform development and modernization efforts
- Experience in leading Agile architecture practices and delivering secure, scalable infrastructure for complex IT environments
- Strong familiarity with integrating legacy systems into cloud-based architecture frameworks
Specialized Experience: At least five (5) years of the required ten (10) years of experience must be in the direct supervision and management of major projects that involve providing professional support services and/or the integration, implementation and transition of large complex system and subsystem architectures. Must have led or been chief architect in major IT implementation efforts. Must demonstrate a broad understanding of client IT environmental issues and solutions and be a recognized expert within the IT industry. Must demonstrate advanced abilities to team and mentor and possess demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills:
- Experience leading the architectural transformation of legacy applications to modern cloud-native platforms in public or enterprise environments
- Proven ability to enforce security governance policies and drive IAM integration and automation in cloud architectures
- Demonstrated success in leading technical architecture initiatives across diverse stakeholders including DevOps, security, product owners, and business units
- Strong leadership in architectural documentation, enterprise communication, and cross-team collaboration at the executive and operational levels
