Job Title - Sr. Network Engineer
Location - Chicago, IL (Hybrid with 2 days onsite)

Responsibilities
- Maintains data, voice and video network hardware and systems; investigates, resolves and escalates technical incidents; researches, analyzes and isolates errors; assists with network assessments.
- Provides technical support for internal and/or external customers; answers routine technical questions; recommends and implements approved course of action.
- Installs and maintains network solutions, including hardware, software and device configurations.
- Provide guidance and support for configuration changes on various voice or data equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, proxy devices, VPN, wireless, PBX, voice mail, call management systems, etc. to enhance performance.
- Assists with designing, implementing and maintaining network solutions such as LAN, WAN, WLAN and voice systems in accordance with specified requirements. Prepares data or voice network diagrams and drawings to document and assist in communicating current operation status of networks.
- Prepares proposal documentation and information to meet requirements. Assists with cost analysis and vendor comparisons to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations.
- Provides mentorship to more junior engineers.
Required/Preferred Education
- Bachelor s degree in a relevant technology related discipline or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- 10+ years of experience working in Information Technology and/or IT Security.
- Certifications in network or information technology disciplines desired.
Required/Preferred Experience
Basic Qualifications
- Proven experience with network systems and solid understanding of networking principles.
- Proven experience working with network software and hardware, data, voice and video.
- Proven experience with heterogenous enterprise client/server systems.
- Proven experience configuring and monitoring network security systems such as routers, firewalls, and intrusion prevention systems.
- Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols and Internet standards.
- Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
- Knowledge of and experience meeting DoD DFARS cyber requirements a plus.
- Extensive experience designing and implementing LAN, WAN and WLAN solutions.
- Extensive experience with network capacity planning and troubleshooting.
