Project details:
The client is seeking two Business Analysts who will serve as a member of the Data Warehouse
and Decision Support (DWDS) section in the Bureau of Information Technology Services (BITS) in the Division of Management Services. The DWDS team is responsible for the statewide longitudinal data warehouse (SLDS), development, system testing, analysis, and maintenance and integration of data in the SLDS, WISEdash and other reporting systems (Microsoft Fabric/Power BI). These systems
require extensive K-12 sector knowledge and experience integrating complex data and developing dashboards and reports to convey that information to DPI staff, school districts and the general public. The candidates will be working to gather requirements, assure quality and generally build out the agency's modernized WISEdash Public portal.

This person will be a member of a team practicing the Agile/Scrum development methodology.
This person will work on the transition of reporting and software features into technical requirements, such as epics, features, and stories following Agile/Scrum-based software development, as well as determine release plans and project scope. This position will work with and serve as a liaison between management and business units within DPI, external stakeholders, product owners, developers, and the scrum master and product owner to identify and analyze opportunities for improving reporting processes and business systems.
This position will be responsible for conducting research, analyzing and documenting system requirements and business rules, and creating user stories. This position will also be responsible for creating functional requirements and specifications, preparing process flow diagrams, and assisting with quality assurance.
Under general supervision of the DWDS section manager, this person will work closely with others to
accomplish project objectives, or function independently to accomplish daily work requirements as a member of the DWDS team. Objectives, priorities and deadlines are established in consultation with the department program area leaders, project managers, and DWDS and IT managers.
Required Skills:
