POSITION SUMMARY :

The Core Banking Technology Tax Reporting Analyst will require in depth knowledge of tax reporting requirements.

This individual will be responsible for interacting with the business users on all aspects of tax reporting within the core banking environment.

This includes ensuring compliance with IRS State Regulations related to US tax withholding, reporting, and filing obligations across Valley Bank.

In addition, this individual will also be responsible for Core Banking Technology daily functions such as Bank Control and Mass Exchange requests and working with the business users on any FIS project request coordination.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Provide oversight to the tax reporting core banking functions for the bank

2.Act as subject matter expert in enterprise tax compliance must keep up to date on all IRS regulations

3.Ensure all business partners are engaged with Core Banking Technology for their tax reporting requirements

4.Act as change agents for Mass Exchange and core banking control requests, ensuring compliance with the banks policies and procedures while staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in the core banking domain.

5.Provide business support for FIS core banking applications, submit tickets on behalf of business for questions related to FIS banking applications and work with business users on capabilities and functionality available in FIS core banking applications.

6.Facilitate regular sessions with all business units to establish a much-needed overall and individual tax workflow.

7.Lead and administrate an effort to clean up customer profile data (IRS TIN Notices, undeliverable customer forms, etc.)

8.Ongoing review of processes to increase operational efficiencies by eliminating redundancy and incorporating automation where possible.

9.Actively take lead on all Current State and Future State Operating initiatives and/or the addition of new functionality as they pertain to tax reporting events.

10.Comply with all regulations pertaining to BSA, USA PATRIOT ACT, and OFAC. Complete annual BSA training. Report suspicions of criminal activity, or any attempt to avoid BSA reporting requirements on the part of customers or employees, to the AMLBSA Compliance Department.

For supervisory positions, ensure BSA training requirements are completed by staff.

11.Initiate the updating of core system data control cards and files as they pertain to year-end processing (holidays, date parameters, run codes, etc.).

12.Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA)

Extensive tax reporting experience (1098, 1099, 1042-S, and FATCA filings) and familiarity with all aspects of tax operations.

Knowledge of core banking, including core banking FIS applications.

Strong ability to troubleshoot, research and action all internal external client stakeholder queries related to tax reporting requirements, regulations, processes, and exceptions.
