Title: Senior Information Technology Project Manager
Location: Waukegan, IL
Duration: 6 Months
Type: Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Senior IT Project Manager to lead multiple complex IT initiatives from initiation through closure. The ideal candidate will have strong SDLC experience, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to navigate cross-functional, global teams.

This role involves project execution, resource coordination, financial oversight, and stakeholder communication in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business and IT leaders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables

  • Build detailed project plans, Gantt charts, and allocate resources effectively

< data-start="1105" data-end="1136">Execution & Control:</>

  • Lead project activities and ensure timely delivery within scope and budget

  • Maintain RAID logs and track key project metrics

  • Monitor progress against goals and resolve scope or resource issues

< data-start="1342" data-end="1379">Communication & Reporting:</>

  • Provide regular status updates to stakeholders and leadership

  • Escalate risks/issues and recommend mitigation strategies

  • Conduct lessons learned and close-out activities

< data-start="1562" data-end="1598">Team & Vendor Management:</>

  • Coordinate internal and external (vendor) resources

  • Facilitate project team meetings and assign work based on capabilities

  • Ensure vendor deliverables are aligned, and POs are managed promptly

< data-start="1803" data-end="1834">Financial Oversight:</>

  • Manage project budgets and track variances in Clarity or similar tools

  • Work with vendors to reconcile estimates, actuals, and invoicing

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in business, Computer Science, or related field

  • 5 10 years of IT project management experience

  • Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Flexibility for global team collaboration (early or late meetings)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP Certification

  • Experience using PPM tools (e.g., Clarity)

  • Background in pharmaceutical or life sciences

  • Experience delivering validated systems or working in GxP environments
