Information Systems Security Officer

Information Systems Security Officer
Bring your skills and experience to Bell in Fort Worth, TX as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support our security program. The ISSO is responsible for maintaining the appropriate operational security posture for information systems as stipulated by USG guidelines including 32-CFR-117, DoDI 8510.01, CNSSI 1253, NIST SP 800-37, NIST SP 800-53, JSIG, DAAPM, and others.
What you'll be doing as an ISSO
- Work in close coordination with the ISSM and other Bell Global Security team members to maintain Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Authority to Operate (ATO) requirements.
- Responsible for day-to-day security operations for DoD cognizant systems through Continuous Monitoring activities as defined by RMF.
- Ensure systems are operated and maintained in compliance with the SSP and other applicable security policies and procedures, and perform necessary corrective actions.
- Support the development of Assessment & Authorization artifacts such as SOPs, SCTMs, Control Implementation and Testing, POA&Ms, RAR, and other documentation.
- Updating the SSP, managing and controlling changes to the system, and assessing the security impact of those changes.
- Audit our accredited systems, conduct vulnerability scanning, and monitor for suspicious activity; investigate anomalies and perform remediation while providing reports to the ISSM.
- Enforce media protection and file transfer procedures as well as enforce Information Assurance Training and Awareness cadence.
- Perform change management, risk assessments, risk mitigations, and self-inspections; participate in CCB meetings.
- Interface with the company and program leadership, DCSA, and our DoD customers to ensure company goals are met.
Skills You Bring to This Role
- Able to work individually and within a team with high work ethic, strong critical thinking/analytical skills, attention to detail, creativity, and a sustained commitment to excellence and quality.
- Experience working in collateral closed-area spaces and close familiarity of the NIST SP 800-53 (SAP spaces and JSIG preferred).
- Deep understanding of cyber security, classified system hardening requirements, tools, and procedures to meet Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Joint Security Implementation Guide (JSIG).
- Proficient at using the DISA Host Baseline tools, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), and vulnerability scanning to set up and configure secure computing environments that meet customer requirements and expectations.
- Adept in operating systems security features and settings, account and user interface management, group policy management, ports, protocols, and services management, problem fixes, and other IS tasks to meet RMF and STIG requirements.
- Background working in a USG defense contractor or national security environment preferred.
- Knowledge of various computer hardware devices and ability to perform basic functions inside a computer (add/remove devices, re-seat cables), perform system BIOS changes, and sanitize a system.
What you need to be successful
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Cyber Security, or other related field of study.
- 5+ years experience in Information Security and System / Network Administration.
- Continuous evaluation or Active USG Secret or higher security clearance (which requires U.S. citizenship) is required.
- Must meet IAT - Level 2 DoD 8570.1-M compliant Professional Certification (Security+, CASP, etc) or be able to gain certification within 6 months of start of employment.
- Experience with Windows, Windows Server, and Linux-based operating system administration is highly preferred.
- Will be expected to travel to other local locations as required.
- Candidate must meet background pre-screening requirements for Special Access Programs.
